Decided against using “Velcro”. After experimenting with Velcro and comparing it to other possibilities I made the decision not to use it. So, will be choosing an alternate solution.

Gave a “Very Happy Birthday Card ” wooden jigsaw puzzle to both the owner and the manager of our favourite coffee shop. These two young women have just had their 40th birthdays. They thought the puzzles were fantastic. One says she is going to hang her puzzle on the wall and no way anyone is going to take it apart and play with it. The other says she is going to put her puzzle in her young daughters hope chest together with a copy of the “Weekender” article. Strange but true. I’ve made quite a few of these ” Very Happy Birthday ” puzzles but to my knowledge only one recipient has ever actually taken it apart so they could reassemble it. Very puzzling for sure.

We’ve had the wettest June and July in history. Despite the weather I did succeed in getting the lawn, and a new puzzle, cut today.

The Photogenic Young (77 year old) Puzzler

Today (my birthday), the “Perth Courier Weekender” arrived in our mailbox and there, big as life on the front page is a smiling picture of me busily puzzling at my scroll saw, and a nice article about my wooden jigsaw puzzle activities.

And we got our website, “ www.woodenjigsawpuzzles.ca ” up and running today.

And Pat took me out for dinner!

All in all a great birthday for the photogenic young (77yr old) puzzler.

Since then I have been inundated by the paparazzi; that’s Krista our area reporter, and lo and behold…
